Can I participate if I've never played hockey before?

Yes! Many players are first-timers. We place all teams in age/skill appropriate games.

Do we get to choose the Pro player we play with?

No, but you will get the chance to see them all at some point throughout the event.

Are players required to sign a waiver before playing?

Yes, a link to our online waiver will be provided closer to the event for all registrants to complete and sign.

What is the breakdown by division? How many players per team?

Youth teams age 5-18, adult teams age 19+.

Each team is comprised of 6 players + 1 goalie (U7 and U9 teams are 8 players + 1 goalie. Additional players can be added during registration for $50 per player.

Youth divisions are 6 teams per division, while adults are currently 15 teams per division.

HockeyFest reserves the right to combine divisions based on team registration numbers, if necessary.

Can I add more players to my team than 6 players + goalie?

Can I volunteer for the SY Road Hockey Classic?

Yes, volunteer registration for the day of the event will open up soon. Please email syhockey@wrhnf.ca directly to be notified when volunteer registration opens.

Are there accommodations for those coming from out of town?

Kitchener-Waterloo offers a wide range of accommodations. The closest hotel to the SY Hockey location would be the Delta Hotels by Marriott Waterloo — located at 110 Erb St. W, Waterloo, ON, N2L 0C6.
